Mike Wampold, from Wampold Companies, is playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of downtown Baton Rouge as a member of the steering committee for Plan Baton Rouge III.
The Plan Baton Rouge III project builds on the successes of its predecessors, Plan Baton Rouge I and II, which have already attracted more than $3 billion in investments to downtown, fostering new buildings, businesses and a higher quality of life for residents and visitors.
As part of this new chapter, Mike Wampold will work alongside other key local leaders and community organizations, contributing his expertise to ensure that this next stage of development strengthens Baton Rouge’s position as a vibrant business and cultural hub.
This transformative initiative, aimed at revitalizing the area, will be led by Sasaki, a renowned planning and civil engineering firm with over 70 years of experience. Sasaki was chosen from a pool of 22 competitors for their expertise in urban development and planning.
The Sasaki team, led by principal planner Joshua Brooks, a Baton Rouge native, will collaborate with local firms such as Franklin Associates, CSRS, Vectura Consulting Services, Trahan Architects and James Lima Planning + Design to continue the momentum of the city’s growth. Public involvement will be vital in shaping the direction of this project, ensuring it reflects the community’s needs and aspirations.
